What is the ISIC card?
The International Student Identity Card (ISIC) is the only internationally recognised proof of full-time student status issued in over 130 countries. The card allows you to prove your student status worldwide, as well as gain access to discounts and benefits in over 125,000 locations. It is endorsed by organisations such as UNESCO, the European Council on Culture and the Andean Community of Nations. The card is recognised by universities, academic institutions, student organisations, national governments and ministries of education around the world.

The ISIC is available to full time students at school, college or university, aged 12 years and above. There is no upper age limit. You can order your card online or by visiting your nearest ISIC issuing office.


Can I use my card as proof of identity?
The ISIC card is proof of student status and can be used to identify yourself in different places in multiple counties worldwide. However, some countries may require a different form of personal identification so please check with the local regulations in advance if you are travelling there.
What is a full-time student?
Generally, full time means at least 15 hours of study a week, for a minimum of 12 weeks per year.

The ISIC card is available to full time students at school, college or university, aged 12 years and above. There is no upper age limit.
What if I am not a student?
If you are not a student, but are 30 years old or younger at the time you apply for the card, the International Youth Travel Card (IYTC) is the right card for you.

If you’re a full time teacher or professor, you can apply for the International Teacher Identity Card (ITIC).

The IYTC and ITIC both offer similar benefits, services and discounts to the ISIC card.


How much do the cards cost?
The price of an ISIC, IYTC or ITIC card is only RRP $25.00 SGD
How do I get a card?
You can apply for an ISIC, IYTC or ITIC online on this website.
Your card should be with you within 10 working days after payment.

Visit a local ISIC Office
You can purchase your card instantly in one of our issuing offices within STA Travel Singapore stores.

Please remember to take along all the necessary documents needed for your card to prove your student status and identity.

I've ordered my card, how long does it take to arrive?
Fantastic - well done! Your application will now be reviewed by our operations team and providing everything is in order, it will be approved for issuing. Once your card has been issued, you will receive a confirmation email with your card number, from where you will be able to sign up via the ISIC app and upload your photo. You will then be ready to start enjoying your virtual card!

Do we post cards overseas?
Unfortunately not, we can only post ISIC cards to addresses within Singapore.
My card is lost or stolen, what should I do?
ISIC cards are non-refundable and non-transferable so you will need to purchase a new card.
How do I renew my card?
ISIC cards are valid for one year. To renew your card you can simply apply for a new one online.

What do I need to apply for a card?
The ISIC is only available to full time students, so you must be able to prove you are currently studying full time at school, college or university.

When applying please provide one of the following documents:

A copy of your university or student identity card, clearly dated and indicating you are a full time student
A signed and dated letter on official university or school stationery stating you are studying there full time. We prefer an original copy, although photocopies and faxes may be accepted.
You will also need:

Your ID document
A recent passport sized photograph of yourself


The International Youth Travel Card (IYTC) is for people aged between 12 – 30 years old who are not fulltime students.

To get an IYTC you must be able to prove your age with one of the following documents:

A form of ID showing your date of birth e.g. Passport/Birth certificate
You will also need a recent passport sized photograph of yourself.


The International Teacher Identity Card (ITIC) is for full time teachers or professors.

To prove your full time teaching status, you will need a letter on official school or university stationery. This must state that you are employed at a recognised school, college or university for at least 18 hours per week, for a minimum of 1 academic year.

You will also need a recent passport sized photo of yourself and an ID document.

How long is the card valid for?
The ISIC, IYTC and ITIC cards are all valid for one year from the date of application.
What discounts do I get with my card?
Your card provides you with a wide range of discounts and special offers – 150,000 of them!

This includes discounts on flights and ferries as well as at museums, bookshops and restaurants. You will make significant savings at home and when travelling abroad with your card. Offers may vary according to your card type – use the global benefit search function to check out the discounts! The ISIC Card is an international brand providing access to thousands of discounts in places your regular student may not be recognised!

I've applied online. How long will it take to get my virtual card?
Customers with correctly ordered virtual ISIC/IYTC/ITIC cards will receive a confirmation email immediately with the order details. ISIC will process and approve the application within 24hrs (during business days), or contact the applicant via email if further information is required. Once the virtual card application has been approved the customer will receive another email providing them with the card serial number. This number can then be used to access the virtual card via the ISIC App. It is the responsibility of the card applicant to download the app and sign up for an account, through which they can access their virtual card.
Why does my virtual card look different to others I have seen?
It looks different because it is brand new! That's right, we have recently gone through an entire brand refresh. It functions exactly as it always has, just more beautifully! Please bear with us in the meantime as we phase out our old look cards.

New Card Design

My card has the old design. Will it still work?
Yes, of course! Regardless of being of old or new card design, virtual and plastic cards remain valid as long as their dates of validity are still current.
I am going overseas. Will my card work?
Most certainly! The brand refresh is being rolled out globally, and as a result benefit partners from all over the world have been notified that there will for a period of time be cards of new and old design in circulation.
