The ISIC Association mission statement
To provide all bona-fide students, regardless of their nationality, race, gender or religion, with the opportunity to prove their student status in every country worldwide, via an official and affordable identifier of student status. This unique identifier aims to allow students access to preferential travel opportunities, specially negotiated services, discounts and experiences in every area and stage of student life, consequently reducing the cost of being a student. As such, the ISIC Association aspires to play a supporting role in improving intercultural understanding and increasing educational opportunities for all.
UNESCO’s endorsement of the ISIC card
Since 1968, the ISIC Association has enjoyed a close relationship with UNESCO, whose endorsement of ISIC recognises our card as a unique document encouraging cultural exchange and international understanding.
The ISIC card is recognised by many other prestigious organisations. As well as UNESCO, endorsements from the European Council on Culture and the Community of Andean Nations illustrate ISIC’s longstanding success and respect as an organisation.
We are proud to be recognised by national governments, ministries of education, universities, academic institutions and student organisations around the world.
